The Stuffed Sock

Few days ago, I went to the groomer. Man, it was really necessary. Since last time, my coast had grown three months and 8 days = looooong. Good that my owner cut the hair in my face every now and then so I could look out of my face. I don't wear the typical Westie cut with the skirt. Roaming the fields every day at every weather, it's much more hygienic to wear a ‟pixie‟ with a Westie face cut. I learned that the short cut it called ‟the stuffed sock‟. Not sure, is that an insult or funny?

Went to the groomer's again

It was about time! I had a coat like an unshorn lamb and people already took me as 'Malteser' or 'Bolonka'. Phffff ... here's before and after.

My groomer is the fantastic Annamaria Wilhelm, highly decorated Westie breeder and top Westie specialist with 20+ years of experience. We never mind driving 45 mins one way to see her (and I love to drive). I can also meet my former kennel mate 'Kissy' from Romania, who recently had puppies again. Below the remaining three from a litter of five, 9 weeks old and all of them so sweet. Weekend August 13 and 14 they will join their new forever homes.

Have been to the Groomer

Was at the groomer's today. What a relief to get all that hair off my skin. The coat on my back is quite rough, a bit like those wire-haired dogs, so it can only be trimmed every 3 months when it's long enough.

My groomer, dear Annamaria Wilhelm, is a friend of my previous owner in Romania, and she was instrumental in finding my new owners here in Switzerland. She is also a highly decorated breeder and certainly knows everything about Westies.

I love the 45 mins car ride to our appointments, but I don't like the trimming on my back too much as my skin is rather sensitive. So I squeak a bit during that procedure, just to be called a drama queen (growl ...).  On the other side, I can quickly meet her three Westies and say hello. That's always nice. One of her pack was even a friend in Romania. We Westies get around, hu !

Annamaria also started the Facebook based organisation that helps Westie grommers in the Ukraine. Great job !!

Perfectly groomed Westie on a perfectly groomed lawn.
