New Year's Stink

What better way to start a new year than a nice roll in some stink ! I tried to paint my back in Panda style but went a bit too low. Whatever, it was an instant disguise. The session in the bathtub later was not too brilliant.

November 19, 2022 - How I Spent My 5th Birthday

Here we go: Extensive walkies in the morning with my hooman, met some dogs and we trained 'find the treat'.  Nice breakfast with a special beef mixture. Yummie ! Resting with my other hooman until we went for an afternoon walkies by the lake. There I found the most seducing perfume in a field and couldn't resist but roll six times. I looked like a mess but was very happy 😊. 

Then...some playing at home, a snack at tea time, resting for the party, cuddles and belly rubs. The living room was nicely decorated with balloons and a Happy Birthday garland 🎈 I also put on my bling-bling collar. 

At 18h an early walk to the bus stop to pick up one of my favourite hoomans, and when we returned home the other guests had already arrived for dinner. No dogs at my party, but the owners of my best friends who are all my favourite hoomans also. I was the center of the attention !! I received yummie presents and an even yummier birthday cake.

All my favourite hoomans cuddled with me and when it was time for a toast on me, I was presented with the birthday cake and was allowed to eat it in the living room straight away. Phew, though it was small, it was still too much for me.  Happy with a full belly, I now needed to rest, and while all my favourite hoomans had dinner, I was snoozing off over their chatter on the sofa. 

Later we drove one of the guests home and walked with her a quick round late at night where she lives. I followed one more cat trail, before we returned home for a good nights rest. 

So now I'm 5. In hooman years this is 40. Well, best age, I guess 😉

By the Lake with Miss Scully

My distant cousin "Scully" lives in the City of Zurich. She is visiting for a week while her Papis are travelling. She really enjoys it here in the country side. On the photo we are taking a break during our morning walkies today and sat on a bench on a jetty by Lake Greifensee, watching the ducks. Later Scully went wild in the fields rolling in cow dung. You don't want to see those photos...and the bathroom after she got showered...

Walkies with a View

Check this out. Here's where we sat today, taking a rest, having some treats and enjoying the view. Below would be Lake Greifensee, where I live. Yup, nice, eh?

Thunder and Lightning

Finally, after days of heat with temperatures up to 35°C / 95°F, thunder and lightning and heavy rains were hitting us last night. I'm a big girl and I'm not afraid of the noise. See for yourself:

  

Morning walkies today were much more fun at an overcast only 19°C. Hey, I'm from Scotland, colder temperatures are my nature. 🐶

Chicken Audience

One of my routes passes by a movable chicken farm. I had an audience this (hot) morning when sniffing around in the grass, some where even applauding with their wings .... joking 🐶

29°C this afternoon. Hot. Don't want to move. And it's not even summer. Shade, please. Westies are not made for heat, we're Scottish by nature 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Out and About with my Friends

Today was a very sunny and warm day (which I, as a Scottish girl, do not like it too hot). But chasing around with my friends is just too much fun. We drove up the hill and parked at the shooting range. Yes, the Swiss men are obliged to go shooting regularly as long as they're in the army's reserve. No shooting today though. 

On a field we came by, a farmer had harvested whatever crop grew there before and was now distributing some dusty fertiliser, probably from a chicken farm with all those white feathers on the ground. That got Aysha and Cocoa on the plan. They pelted across the field, ignoring the farmer's large trailer moving around. And Cocoa would not want to listen when he was called. Ran even further away. Naughty boy !!

In the end we all sat panting in the shade, ready to walk into the woods. There was a small stream, and I dared to wet my paws. Uh uh, am not used to that. Later we came by a lovely water fall and who ran to the edge almost slipping down? Cocoa again. So he had to go on the lead for the remainder of the stroll.

At the end, all exhausted from the heat, we were asked to sit down for a photo session. As if! We all still had ants in our bums. This is the best we could do:

Even though it was raining - as you can see me wearing my authentic North Sea rain coat 😊 - nature was exploding with green 🌱 and the air was so fresh.

Meet the Pack

Pant pant ... just got back in from a loooooong walk around the area where we all live. So much to sniff, and a lot of chasing. Spring, yippie!

Cocoa and Ginger (4), the Havanese half brothers and full of beans, like to do the zoomies with me, and Paco (8), the proud Westie male protects me should the play with the boys get out of hand. Aysha (12), the elegant elderly Labrador lady is always strolling around by herself, not bothering much about us, except when Paco chases her. They live together. 

We meet at least once a week, that's nice, and I'm happy that after almost 11 months in Switzerland I made such nice friends.

Sexy in the Rain

This week Tuesday I was already struggling with 21°C. Today, Friday, 2°C and snow fall. Wednesday and Thursday rain fall, so I took my afternoon walkies in the woods, posing in my chic, original Hamburg "Südwester"-style rain coat. How's that, sexy or what 😉?

Hierarchy in the Boot?

We were car pooling driving up to the plateau on this sunny snowy winter's day for an afternoon walk with then pack. I drove with my buddies Cocoa and Ginger. Clever me, I managed to make it into Ginger's seat to the left, and you can see on Ginger's face that he's not too happy with this arrangement - teehee!

Comment of my owner: "De Schnäller isch de Gschwinder, hä ?!." (First come first serve, hu?!). Guess I should have been nicer to Gringer. Next time, buddy.
